“Get a 6 pack in 6 weeks” “Lose 2 stone in 2 weeks” “Detox your body with this shake”
Arghhhhhh!! I am so tired and frustrated of seeing these so called quick fixes and miracle products being advertised. And then picking up the pieces with discouraged disillusioned clients who think THEY have failed and not the products. It takes advantage of people’s weaknesses in order to make a quid or several hundred!
Here’s where I come from:
Looking after your health is number one priority. We have one body, one mind and one soul. Bugger it up and life is harder.
Buying in to quick fixes for mucho money can seem like a great idea but ask yourself these questions before you click the BUY button.
1. It it fact? Do the claims they make have scientific evidence based research behind them. Who did the research? Are there biases involved?
2. Are you sure you will complete the course/diet? What is involved to get the results they promise? Are you ready to make those commitments or are you buying into the idea instead of the actual?
3. What will happen once you finish the 6 weeks/2 weeks/7days? Will you default back to your previous behaviour and habits? Will you have increased your knowledge of how your body and mind works? What is your plan to keep the gains/losses you could make?
4. Is it sustainable? How will it work in your life? With your work and home life? How will celebrations/holidays, down and up times affect your results?
You owe it to yourself to ask these questions before buying any of these solutions. Find out what you are getting in to. Ask the questions and then decide.
I’ve been very quiet on the SM front over summer. Much needed family time and some injury and illness have meant a step away. But I’m back and committing to living my real! First stop is sorting my nutrition out to help me fire on all cylinders both physically and mentally. Day one was awesome 😎
